
Mottled Sea Star, Evasterias troschelii
The mottled sea star,
Evasterias troschelii, ranges from the Pribilof Islands in the Bering Sea to central California.
It occurs from the intertidal zone down to 10 meters and beyond, on most subtrate types. They often form dense aggregations.
E. troschelii can be confused with P. ochraceus.
