Munidopsis albatrossae, in the family Galatheidae, was collected
by the 1999 DSV Alvin expedition on the Patton seamount at 2953 m; they were usually seen below 1000 m. The family Galatheidae collectively called "squat lobsters" are
classified as Anomurans, or "asymmetrical tail" crabs, as are king
crabs (Text excerpted from Report of R/V Atlantis Cruise 3-36).
