Table name	Definition
NORPAC.DOMESTIC_GEAR	Provides gear descriptions for each gear code.

Column name	Type	Definition
GEAR	number(2,0)	A one or two-digit numeric code identifying each type of gear.
VP_GEAR	varchar2(1)	A subset of gears that are used for plant purposes only.
AK_GEAR	varchar2(3)	A subset of gears that are used for management purposes.
GEAR_DESCRIPTION	varchar2(40)	A description of each type of gear.
GEAR_CATEGORY	number(2,0)	A one-digit numeric code used to combine gear into category: 1 - trawl; 2 - longline; 3 - pot/trap; 4 - jig.
