UW SAFS Scholarship Program
University of Washington
Students
The UW School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences (UW
SAFS) students are eligible and encouraged to apply
for the AFSC internships. UW SAFS students can obtain
a scholarship and course credit with an
internship.
The applicant must be a matriculating SAFS
undergraduate student and have a 3.2 GPA to qualify
for a scholarship from the UW SAFS. Students
receive a $3,500 scholarship if they participate in
a 10-week, full-time internship. Otherwise, the
funding level will be adjusted accordingly.
Please follow the general AFSC application
guidelines. Participation in a field component is
required.
2012 project meeting criteria for scholarship is:
Ecosystem Dynamics in the Gulf of Alaska
University of Washington, School of Aquatic
& Fishery Sciences' students may participate in
one of three ways:
1. Undergraduate Internship (FISH 498) for any
class level students
2. Undergraduate Research (FISH 499) for any class
level students
3. Senior Project/Capstone (FISH 494 + FISH 495)
for junior or senior students
All students will have a UW faculty sponsor for the
experience.
