    Kodiak College

Studied embryonic development in golden king crab using photomicroscopy and image analysis.

Tabitha has a background in pharmacy and has recently conducted salmon field work for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. Her goal is to pursue advanced studies in wildlife and conservation biology.

Tabitha's biology internship project with the AFSC's Kodiak Research Lab involved assisting with an embryology, development, and hatch timing study of golden king crab (GKC). This study entails sampling eggs, digital photomicroscopy, image analysis (to monitor development and hatch timing), and entering data in Excel.

She also helped with setting up systems for experimental culture of crabs, in addition to GKC feeding, recording GKC growth data, tagging crabs, and cleaning tanks.
